What Is the Difference Between Pressure Washing and Soft Washing?

Pressure washing relies on force. Soft washing relies on a cleaning solution and time, applied at a low pressure, so the organic growth is treated rather than scraped off.

On brick, mortar, painted trim and wood, soft washing is the right call. It is gentler on the surface and the result lasts longer because the algae and mildew were actually killed. Concrete is the exception: driveways get pre-treated and then washed at genuine pressure. Power washing and pressure washing describe the same service, and the only thing that really matters is which setting your surface can take.

Will Pressure Washing Damage My Brick or Siding?

That is exactly why we match the pressure to the surface instead of the other way round. Vinyl and brick get a gentle soft-wash approach. Wood gets specialized wood cleaners at low pressure. Only concrete gets a stronger wash, and only after pre-treatment.

If any part of your exterior is fragile, whether that is failing mortar, flaking paint or old sills, point it out at the walkthrough. We would rather adjust the plan than hand you a repair.

How Long Does Pressure Washing Take in the DC Metro?

Most medium-sized projects are done in two to four hours. Whole-property jobs with siding, a deck and a driveway take longer. You will get an honest time estimate at the walkthrough, not after we have started.
